I’m getting ready to publish my book, Life After Bankruptcy: Finding a Home, Rebuilding Credit, and Keeping Your Dignity.

This isn’t a book written from some perfect financial mountaintop. It comes from rebuilding in real life, when the bankruptcy may be over on paper but life doesn’t magically reset with it.

A sneak peek from the book

“My bankruptcy was discharged, I was back at work, and I needed an affordable place to live. That sounded reasonable to me. Getting a rental application to agree was another matter.

You may know this awkward little gap: the court paperwork says you can start over, but the rental application still wants to discuss your past. Again. After a while, even filling in your name can feel exhausting.

I was rebuilding at 55 after serious illness and disability. I had returned to customer-service work, and I needed a place that fit my income and worked with public transportation. Pretty countertops were nice. A bus that could get me home from work was considerably more useful.”

That’s why I wrote this book. Bankruptcy is a legal process, but rebuilding is a human one. I wanted to create the practical, down-to-earth guide I wish I’d had when I was trying to figure out housing, credit, money and how to move forward without losing my dignity.

Life After Bankruptcy is coming soon. I’ll share the Amazon Kindle link here on FindMeRaw when it’s available.
